Kunhwa is a leader in water supply and wastewater treatment in Korea, and now actively expanding its businesses abroad. One of the most remarkable recent achievements by Kunhwa is the Hanam Clean Environment and Recycling Complex Project currently under construction in a satellite city around Seoul.

The complex accommodates a total package of municipal wastewater treatment plant, solid waste incinerating plant, food waste processing facility for livestock feeds production, automatic sorting and recovery process facility of recyclable wastes, and odor control system, and etc. This complex is the epoch-making project that all the complex components are fully undergrounded all together and the ground is transformed into a modern urban park with various sports and leisure facilities.

Through Hanam Recyling Complex project, Kunhwa takes further steps by uniquely placing various treatment facilities undergrounded all in one project location, and ingeniously developing the space above as parks and leisure facilities.

Kunhwa exercises to ensure that water supply, sewage, and wastewater are properly transported, treated, and managed through most updated technologies because water resource is a key to human well-being and sustainability.

Kunhwa is committed to meeting increasing demands on water resource preservation and water management infrastructures. We have played active roles in watershed protection, flood control, and river eco-system restoration for the Four Major Rivers Restoration Project in Korea.

Particularly, we have participated in domestic flood pumping station projects and showed the best technology within the country in the field of water & environment. In the case of Shinwol rainwater storage and drainage system project, it has attracted public attention considerably that we have completely solved the large-scale flooding problem caused by concentrated heavy rainfall.

Kunhwa also takes an important role in conservation and utilization of underground water in arid regions around the world. We continue our investigations and research into geo-hydrology and underground water flow theories.

In arid regions, Kunhwa has continuously pursued efficient preservation of underground water resources with fully utilizing our expertise in geo-hydrology and underground water flow theories.

At the interface of the city and nature where water is taken from and used, Kunhwa plays a crucial role in erasing the traces of human water usage and returning it clean.

In a field that requires utmost reliability, such as our natural ecosystems, a single missed moment can cause irreparable damage. Therefore, it is crucial to make real-time decisions and operate efficiently.

In the water supply and sewerage field, Kunhwa collaborates with engineers who conduct feasibility study, basic plan, and basic & detailed designs, and operate water supply and sewerage facilities. This collaboration has resulted in a higher level of operation.
Specialized engineers operate sewage treatment plants, wastewater treatment plants, manure treatment plants, and CSOs. They share design and operational knowledge to find the optimal operating factors for each site.

We are expanding our business in various scales and fields, from large-scale public sewage treatment facilities like the Seongnam Sewage Treatment Plant to small-scale ones like the Gimpo Village Sewage Treatment Plant and the incinerator in Ansan City.

Kunhwa is researching and developing unique data collection and operational factors, and striving to lead the future of intelligent sewage treatment plants based on the operational expertise gained from unmanned sewage treatment plants.
